The Malaco Music Group

Born in Columbia, Mississippi to Reverend and Mrs. L. J. Francis, Ruby moved with the family to Lawton, Oklahoma, where she spent her formative years. After graduating from Eisenhower high school, she attended Seward County College and Wichita State University, completing 119 hours toward a degree in education. It was during this time that she married Reverend Ivanhoe Terry. From this union came two sons Eric and Christopher. The family presently resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where Rev. terry pastors the Saints Memorial C.O.G.I.C.


Inspired by the scripture that "I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me", Ruby financed and co-produced her own first recording. Heeding the Spirit, she mailed a copy of this recording to Frank Williams, who upon hearing it signed her to the Malaco label. Her first album, entitled Chapter One was released in March 1989, and this recording garnered her a Stellar Nomination. Her second album was released in 1992, and was directed by Rev. Timothy Wright.


Gospel music has never been so blessed as it is by the ministry of Ruby Terry.
