This album is a gospel lover’s dream come true, especially if you throw I the fact that Melvin’s guest artists include such gospel greats as Shirley Caesar, The Mississippi Mass Choir, Marvin Winans of the Winans, Harvey Watkir, Jr. of the Canton Spirituals, and Bishop Tomm Lockett. The anointing flows from the very first song, “Step Out On Faith,” through the very last “Special Place,” which was written in memory of Melvin’s late brother, the legendary Frank Williams. Melvin’s remake of the old Staple Singer hit, “Tell Heaven,” which features Harvey Watkins, Jr., definitely is a classic.
