Bursting upon the Gospel scene by winning the 1st place in the Singsational National Gospel Choir Competition, Lonnie Hunter And The Voices Of St. Mark take a giant stride forward with their exciting debut recording on the Muscle Shoals Sound Gospel label. No strangers in Gospel circles, Lonnie and the Choir snag backgraound for Patti Labelle in the PBS documentary, “Going Home To Gospel,” were the featured choir at The National Democratic Convention and performed the national TV commercial “Oh My Chicago” for the Illinois Department of Tourism. Lonnie was Host/Emcee for Wrigley’s (GUM) Gospel Choir Awards National finals in Chicago, with regional winners from Jackson, MS, St. Louis, MO, Houston, TX, Philadelphia, PA, and New York City. Minister of Music as St. Marks and successful entrepreneur, he received the “Pinnacle” award from The Gillette Company/Being Single Magazine for business and professional excellence and was talent coordinator for McDonald’s Chicagoland Gospelfest competition. He also directed and acted in the hit Gospel play “One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism” starring Vanessa Bell Armstrong.
