Carolyn Traylor

Carolyn Traylor

A native of Greenville, Texas, Carolyn began her singing career while attending Texas Southern University under the tutelage of the late Olivia Branch Walker.

In 1986, the illnesses of Carolyn's parents prompted her return home to Greenville, which is where Carolyn realized that God had a special ministry for her. She began singing in various churches in Greenville, Dallas, Louisiana and surrounding areas.

God has allowed Carolyn to share the stage with such stellar performers as the late Rev. James Moore, John P. Kee, Vicki Winans, Jurt Carr, Shirla Caesar, Minister Donnie McClurkin and many more.

In 1995, Carolyn began to venture abroad. God allowed Carolyn to go on a two-week tour of Switzerland and Italy with Willie Neal Johnson & the Gospel Keynotes, Roy & Esther Wooten and some of the members of the Mississippi Mass Choir.

In 1997, Carolyn appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel. Dr. JOnes then invited Carolyn to join Him, New Life and The Nashville Super Choir for their 1998 and 1999 Easter Tours of Terni, Italy.

In June of 1999, to Carolyn's surprise, she was invited to the 15th Annual Chicago Superfest to do a duet with "The Queen of Gospel," Albertina Walker as a tribute to the late Thomas Dorsey.

Carolyn recently ministered on the greatest gospel gathering ever, "Take it to the Bridge" held on January 2, 2000 at the Astrodome in Houston, TX.

And as if God hadn't done enough, He allowed gospel legend, Dorothy Norwood and celebrated pianist, Derrick Lee of Bobby Jones Gospel to join forces to produce a whirlwind of a project on Carolyn entitled "Don't Wanna Be Left Behind" on the Malaco Music Group label.
