Patrick Green

Patrick Green

A native Houstonian, Patrick embraced music and the love for entertaining as early as the third grade while participating in a school Christmas play. He participated in the school choir but his voice really evolved while singing in the church choir! There he received his best training. Patrick is an actual testimony that the origin of true music originates in the church. It is evident that the brother went to church and apparently paid attention because…this man is blessed!

He possesses a silken and totally decadent voice that encompasses versatility and versatile he has definitely been. Inspired by the influences of Al Green, The Temptations….This sultry, velvet vocalist musically embarked on the urban contemporary scene in the latter eighties performing as an opening act for touring and local artists of Houston's Arena Theatre as well as the now de-funked Rockefellers and the Westin's Roof. It was then he became determined to fulfill a long awaited goal and even a promise… a quest to create and complete his own musical project.

That determination resulted in the release of his debut CD "All I Have To Give" on The Across The Board Records label in 1992 which was a collection of smoldering ballads drenched with seductive sensitivity. The single release, "When We Get Married", the popular Larry Graham remake, was positively received in the southwest region where it received a great deal of airplay and allowed opportunities to tour with numerous artists and open for The Whispers, Cherelle, Regina Belle, Glenn Jones and Alex Bugnon… just to name a few.

While working in the studio to refuel and assess new material, Patrick put his versatility in a whole new genre, a smoother groove and went to …the blues!!!! Inspired by the gut wrenching Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Willie Clayton, Buddy Ace & Melvin Waiters he realized he was in a new comfort zone and it not only felt good it sounded good! His singing had such a different feel…a sort of renewed spiritual intensity that he knew he was home!!! His new entitled CD is "HERE AM I" and Patrick believes it is his best work to date because each song is lyrically absorbing whereas anyone and everyone can relate to it. It reigns true particularly on the cuts "Here Am I", a soulful, smooth, stirring blues ballad and "My Sweet Patoo" a whimsical dance and foot stomping number. Pat gives his all to this project with solid performances instrumentally and superior background vocals! Recently Patrick talents were noticed by the legendary blues label "Malaco" Records and was offered and accepted a long term recording contract.

He makes us all feel at home with this project and we are glad to have him there. So bring the party on and come on in! … Take your shoes off and get comfortable …because "Patrick Green is in the house" and has assured us that there is no place like home!!
