Keisa Brown

Keisa Brown's concert career has been in high gear, year upon year. So the veteran star seldom has stopped the music to record. Now, the long-awaited Keisa Brown Collection is being released for her legions of live concert fans. Its 10 refreshing, timely cuts coincide with the resurgence of classic R&B and are fueled by her celebrated "tornado" of a voice.

Keisa (pronounced "Key-sa") earned this Malaco Records debut after sharing the stage with such superstars as Tina Turner, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Brandy, Neil Diamond and Boys II Men.

Born in Mississippi, the powerful, natural vocalist moved to Chicago at an early age. Keisa began catching the world's attention-room by room-singing in school, church, talent shows and anywhere she could find an audience. With big dreams and even bigger talent, she moved to Los Angeles to develop her professional career.

Before this pivotal venture with Malaco, Keisa proved she could conquer any vocal turn, from country ballads to driving rock. She established herself as a headliner in such major markets as Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Palm Springs, as well as through the Caribbean and into Europe.

Before this pivotal venture with Malaco, Keisa took a personal break. "I took some time off to prioritize and redirect my focus to the joy of my life, Jesus Christ. And, for the first time in a very long time, it just feels right recording again," she said. She teamed with veteran producer/songwriter Frederick Knight, a Malaco regular, to record Keisa Brown Collection. The result is a vocal tour de force paired with a stunning variety of R&B tracks-with heart and soul in every note. Most songs were written by Knight, including Fly On The Wall, which he co-penned with Keisa.

The album's first spin-off single, Fly On The Wall, mixes timeless heartache with a contemporary tale. In the song, Keisa's lover leaves her for another woman-or is it? She discovers that the woman is a man, masquerading as a woman. The lyric line is, "I'd love to be a fly on the wall when your new girlfriend tells all."
